TIC is a simple, natural approach. We track the menstrual cycle to monitor ovulation and the growth of the egg to determine your ideal days for intercourse. It can be done with or without fertility medication. The average TIC cycle takes around 2 weeks to complete.
TIC is a great place to start if you have irregular periods, difficulty tracking your ovulation at home, or want to improve scheduling difficulties between you and your partner.
What to expect
Preparation and Education
- In the month leading up to your cycle, our nursing team will provide you with instructions detailing the whole TIC process. Our goal for this month is to ensure you move forward with your treatment feeling confident and at ease.
Day 1
- This is the first day of your menstrual cycle. Your TIC cycle begins! Some cycles can include oral tablets or injections. These are usually started within the first week.
Cycle Monitoring &Egg Maturation
- We’ll begin monitoring ovulation and the growth of your egg starting around day 10 of your cycle. You’ll need 2-4 morning appointments for blood tests and internal ultrasounds.
Timed Intercourse
- Based on your hormones, follicle size and endometrial lining thickness, your doctor will suggest the best timing for intercourse.
Pregnancy Test
- We can do a pregnancy blood test 12-14 days after timed intercourse. If the test is done at our clinic, we’ll have results to you on the same day.
